Succulent Care

Succulents are both easy to care and incredibly resilient indoor plants. All they need is water and indirect, bright light. Use the soak and sit method for watering. The soak and sit method require the succulents being completely submerged in *water. Your sink or a bowl is ideal. Make sure the entire plant inside its grow pot or planter, if you transplanted, is completely covered in *water. Let the succulent plant sit submerged in *water for 10-15 minutes. This ensures that all of the roots have been *watered thoroughly. After 10-15 minutes pull the succulent plant out of the submerged *water and let it sit making sure the excess *water has drained. If your succulent is in a pot with no drainage holes, slightly tip the pot until the excess *water pours out. After another 10-15 minutes has passed, place your succulent plant in an indirect, brightly lit spot. You might consider a grow light in order to provide sufficient brightness. If you use a grow light, make sure you have positioned it such that it is far enough away so that it doesn't burn the leaves. While succulents are resilient, direct light will burn the leaves.

* Suggested water temp is tepid. We find it permeates the soil better than cold water. Also, we like to put Fungus Gnat Death Drops by Happy Happy Houseplant in our water as it helps keeps those pesky gnats at bay. We use these drops every time we water.
